New Castle resident and Detroit Pistons player Duncan Robinson and several current and former pro players, including some from New Hampshire, will be in Manchester later this month.
The Robinson Family Foundation will host Hoops for Healing, an evening with Duncan Robinson and Friends, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Downtown on Saturday, Aug. 29.
Robinson, Concord's Matt Bonner, an NBA champion with the San Antonio Spurs, and Bonner's brother Luke, who played at Trinity High and UMass, former MLB pitcher Chris Carpenter, who grew up in Raymond, and former NHL player Tim Schaller, who is from Merrimack, will be at the event alongside former NBA and Tilton School player Georges Niang, former Boston Celtic Brian Scalabrine, former NHL player Chad Ruhwedel and Miami Heat guard Dru Smith.
The Hoops for Healing event, which is sponsored by Primary Bank, will benefit the Robinson Family Foundation, which was established after Robinson's brother, Eli, committed suicide last year.
The foundation supports programs that promote mental health, heart health and overall wellbeing and focuses on reducing stigma and improving access to care.
