New England Patriots wide receiver A.J. Brown has gotten better in the eyes of former teammate and Philadelphia Eagles star cornerback Quinyon Mitchell.

According to Fox Sports’ Henry McKenna, Mitchell acknowledged the improvement that he saw from Brown during the two teams’ joint practice on Wednesday after the session concluded.

“Looked a little better,” Mitchell said regarding whether or not that was the same old A.J. Brown on the field. “Looked a little better. Looked a little faster. Like I said, he's a great receiver.”

The Eagles traded Brown to the Patriots last spring after he and Mitchell spent the last two seasons together as teammates from 2024-25.

Mitchell, a first-team All-Pro honoree from last season, had the chance to go up against Brown in practice many times in that span. It was his first chance to see whether the star receiver had added anything to his game since being traded, which Brown showed he had during the session.

Brown and the Patriots will take on Mitchell and the Eagles in their next preseason game on Saturday. Assuming both play, the matchup will be the first time that both players line up opposite one another in a game in their careers.
