Jonathan Greenard will miss “another couple weeks at least” for Eagles – PFT
Eagles linebacker Jonathan Greenard has not practiced yet at training camp and it will still be some time before he’s ready to get on the field. Greenard is on the physically unable to perform list due to a pectoral injury and defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said at a Tuesday press conference that it will be “another couple weeks at least” before he’s able to resume football activities. Fangio said that the extended time off is something the Eagles will have to keep in mind as they try to avoid further injury once Greenard has returned to action.
Eagles Training Camp Practice Notes: Uar Bernard is showing some promise – BGN
CB Quinyon Mitchell went to the ground after getting tangled up with Hollywood Brown in WR vs. DB 1-on-1 drills. Mitchell was slow to get up and spent some time on one knee with a trainer. He did not participate in team drills but he also did not visit the medical tent or leave the practice field early, so, those are some encouraging signs.

Obviously, he ran away with the vote here. Four other players got one vote each. In alphabetical order: QB Jalen Hurts, iOL Drew Kendall, WR Elijah Moore, LB Jeremiah Trotter. I agree that Hunt, Lampkin, Hurts, Kendall, Moore, and Trotter have all had good camps.
Camp Notes – Good Depth – Iggles Blitz
The Eagles know as well as anyone that you need depth if you want to win in the NFL, where the season isa war of attrition. With that said, lets talk about some key backups. OL depth is critical, as the team saw last year when Cam Jurgens and Landon Dickerson shouldn’t have been on the field. Drew Kendall was a rookie last season and focused on learning. Now he’s the top backup on the inside and could play if needed.

2) PHILADELPHIA EAGLES. The big change on the offensive line for the Eagles this season is the departure of former offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland, but like the Broncos in the top spot, they return the same starting five. Right tackle Lane Johnson has indicated that this is likely to be his last season in the NFL, so we only have one more year to marvel at one of the finest pass blockers to play in the NFL since PFF began grading. Johnson has earned a PFF pass-blocking grade above 80.0 in six straight seasons and allowed just seven total pressures from 262 pass-blocking snaps a year ago.

At just 5-foot-11 and just 290 pounds, Willie Lampkin doesn’t look like an NFL offensive lineman. Until he starts to play. Because it has become clear over the last couple of weeks that Lampkin is an NFL player and he’s pushing extremely hard for a spot on the Eagles’ 53-man roster. He has been turning the heads of his teammates and coaches along the way. “I think Willie’s done a phenomenal job,” starting left guard Landon Dickerson said. “He plays with great leverage, great feet. He’s a strong guy. He’s kind of like our little secret weapon when it comes to the D-linemen. I just don’t think he’s your typical size for an offensive lineman, which can be a game-changer going against defensive linemen.”

Quarterback Jalen Hurts’ speed has been standing out at Eagles’ training camp, and members of the defense are taking notice. “I think Jalen’s having a good camp. I think he looks faster,” said defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. “Obviously we can’t touch him during practice so there’s always that debate whether you had him or not [for a sack] and I think there’s been a few times where our guys think they had him and they really didn’t.” Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jalen Carter agrees. He came into training camp about 10 pounds lighter but is still having a hard time catching up to QB1. “I don’t know what it is but when I’m watching and I’m running [after him], it’s like a movie, it feels like I’m going slow,” Carter said. “He be moving man, he’s been working hard and he’s the one, for sure.”

4) PHILADELPHIA EAGLES. It might seem shocking to see the Eagles land at such a lofty place. That’s fair, especially given how poorly they performed in the latter portion of the 2025 season. Things seem different with this team now, though, starting with the vibes. Everyone seems happier — with the scheme directed by new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, with the standard of accountability being emphasized within the building, and with some of the additions made on both sides of the ball. Jonathan Greenard’s absence (pec strain) is concerning but doesn’t leave the kind of gaping hole that such an injury would create on lesser teams. There’s plenty to sort out with this new-look receiving corps, too, but after moving on from the drama that seemed to follow A.J. Brown, I trust this steadily competitive franchise to produce a better offense, pair it with a talented defense and make another run at an NFC East crown (and more).

The role, as developed during the course of a career now in its 11th season, is to win at the line of scrimmage. Mundt has 74 career catches – his most, 19, in the 2022 and 2024 seasons with Minnesota – but he has made it in this league because he’s a great blocking tight end. He won Super Bowl LVI with the Rams and played for the Jaguars before signing with the Eagles this offseason. You do what you have to do. “A lot of point of attack blocking, making plays in the fast game, obviously. Just being a multi-dimensional tight end and just helping out any way I can,” Mundt said about what he can bring to the Eagles’ offense. Being attached to the line of scrimmage, being point of attack on a lot of these blocks, you can do a lot of play action … and again, the marriage of the run of the pass has been core to this offense ever since its start.”

But to imitate the nuances of the tush push — which is distinguished from a regular QB sneak by teammates shoving the ball carrier forward — EA needed a bigger production and an extra level of intensity, including motion-capture sessions that Boatright described with the enthusiasm of a coach in the heat of training camp. “(It was) a mindset of, ‘I have to wreak havoc,’ if I’m on defense,” Boatright said, “or, if I’m on the offensive side, ‘I’ve got to put this guy in the dirt.’ “We want to make sure we mimic everything that happens in real life as often as we possibly can.”

Tony Romo’s arrest and subsequent absence forced CBS into a game of NFL musical chairs, and one of the beneficiaries is a familiar Philly voice. Ross Tucker, the Eagles preseason announcer on NBC10 since 2019, is jumping to the No. 2 booth at CBS alongside veteran play-by-play voice Ian Eagle. It’s a big promotion for Tucker, a Wyomissing native and former NFL offensive lineman, though for now it’s just Week 1. He’ll replace former Houston Texans star J.J. Watt, who will fill in for Romo alongside Jim Nantz in CBS’ No. 1 booth. “I’m getting hundreds of text messages from people congratulating me. It’s kind of crazy,” Tucker said.

Cardinals GM Monti Ossenfort downplayed any rumors that Sweat asked for a trade and said they have no interest in moving him. “There is always a lot of talk around that. The Cleveland Browns signed big-bodied tight end Dae’Quan Wright out of Ole Miss to bolster the group’s depth. Wright (6’-4”, 255 pounds) is an athletic tight end but has been inconsistent as a blocker. He went undrafted in April’s NFL draft and then signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, but was recently waived.

The Atlanta Falcons have signed tight end Nick Muse. In corresponding moves, the Falcons have waived/injured wide receiver Le’Meke Brockington and linebacker Malik Verdon. Muse comes to the Falcons after stops on the practice squads of the Eagles, Cardinals, Rams and Jets. At the beginning of this month, Muse signed with the Detroit Lions but was waived two days ago on Sunday, Aug. 9.
Cowboys impress in training camp scrimmage against Rams – Blogging The Boys
The Dallas Cowboys scrimmaged against the Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday as the teams took a break from training against themselves, but unfortunately the NFL machine made seeing anything from the activities difficult impossible. Times have changed and these days teams are more intense about scrimmages like these. Consider that just last week the Cowboys originally put out word that team periods were not to be filmed, but the powers that be made sure that things were allowed to carry on as normal shortly after that decree. It should be noted that Tuesday’s scrimmage was at the Rams’ facility so it was their rules in place. Thanks to the hard-working members of the local beat we are able to piece together, loosely, happenings from the day, and it would appear that the Cowboys stood their ground against the Super Bowl favorites.

NY Giants to host CB with legal troubles on free-agent visit – Big Blue View
The New York Giants, who were without three of their top five cornerbacks at practice on Tuesday, will host former Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold for a free-agent visit on Wednesday, a source confirmed. Arnold, a 2024 first-round pick by the Detroit Lions, was released on June 29. Arnold, 23, is facing eight felony charges stemming from allegations he orchestrated the abduction and beating of three men. The Lions released him after he was charged.
Deshaun Watson can’t stop throwing interceptions at Browns camp – SB Nation
Deshaun Watson is finally back from a torn Achilles, and no one should be less excited than Cleveland Browns fans. That cursed group knows what a bad quarterback looks like, and Watson fits right in with Cleveland’s putrid QB history since the franchise broke the bank to acquire him from the Houston Texans. It’s an indictment on the entire organization that Watson is the likely starter heading into Week 1, especially after a terrible, no-good training camp. Watson is addicted to throwing interceptions right now, and every off-target is beginning to go viral. Cleveland is 12 practices deep into training camp, and Watson has already thrown nine interceptions. In many of these throws, Watson looks like a has-been who doesn’t understand his new physical limitations. He just can’t fit the ball into tight windows anymore, and so many of these picks just lack the velocity they would need to get to the target.
