Exeter City has condemned the "shameful behaviour" of fans following reports of misogynistic chanting during the Devon derby and an allegation of sexual harassment after a match.
The club said it was extremely disappointed to report 15 seats were damaged during its League Cup clash away at Plymouth Argyle on 10 August, with a lighter also thrown on the pitch.
Three Exeter City supporters were also arrested during the match while five individuals - four of whom were under 18 - were banned from attending games at St James Park.
In a statement, the League Two club said those responsible were "not true supporters". The BBC has contacted Devon and Cornwall Police for more information.
The club added a number of people also took part in misogynistic chanting during the Devon derby.
City said this behaviour would not be tolerated as it was a family club where "women and girls must feel safe".
"This is shameful behaviour with no place at Exeter City Football Club or in football as a whole," the statement said.
The game was broadcast live on Sky Sports at the time, with the club stressing the majority of its fans would be "rightly ashamed".
City went on to note the behaviour was "not limited to away matches" after it received a complaint of sexual harassment after the Accrington Stanley match at St James Park on Saturday.
A woman was allegedly sexually harassed and subjected to unwanted physical contact on Old Tiverton Road.
The club said: "This is not just unacceptable behaviour - it is a criminal offence.
"We would urge any witnesses to come forward and we ask all supporters to look out for one another."
Manager Matt Taylor said the last few weeks had "left a stain on our football club".
He added City would take any course of action necessary to "eradicate the minority who are currently letting this special football club down".
Club chairman Wilf Walsh said: "We will follow up every report of poor behaviour - incidents will be reported to the police and banning orders will be issued."
