Liverpool are now just one step away from completing another deal. This one is hard to take, however.
There are only a couple of weeks left of the transfer window and Liverpool need to seal a few more deals. That means both incomings and outgoings, too.
And while we wait for news on Bradley Barcola potentially joining the club, we've got a sale to get through. That's for Curtis Jones, who is now set to join Inter permanently.
Jones has just one year remaining on his Liverpool contract and talks over a new one haven't been happening for some time now. The Italians attempted to sign him back in January, only for the Reds to reject and offer, and are now back with a bigger bid and more time on their side.
Liverpool needed to sell this summer if they were to get anything resembling a good fee. It's debatable whether €35m for Jones is good even with just a year remaining, but at least it's something.

Now, this one isn't quite signed off. Fabrizio Romano made it clear that things are incredibly close, though, as he confirmed that Jones will fly to Milan on Thursday.
The medical is set for Friday, which is really just the final step. Jones, then, the last remaining Scouser in the team, will almost certainly leave Liverpool this week for a complete change of scenery.
Attention then turns back to the Reds. Are they simply going to push on with the midfielders they've got? Jones played a lot of football last season, across multiple positions, so who gets those minutes now?
It seems Trey Nyoni is in line for a promotion, certainly, but that's a massive step up for him. Liverpool do appear ready to bank on a relatively untested teenager for significant minutes, though.
Jones will be missed as a senior player and especially as one who never really got to play the role he wanted to. He'll almost certainly get that chance in Italy - and we'll be watching closely.
