Fiorentina is set to beat Juventus to sign Serie A attacker

Mateo Pellegrino is one of the players Juventus have been keen to add to their squad during this transfer window, with the Bianconeri looking for attacking reinforcements after losing Lois Openda and Dusan Vlahovic early in the window.

The men at the Allianz Stadium believe they already have some of the best players in the country within their squad, but they needed to strengthen their attacking options after the departures of the two forwards. Vlahovic had been one of Juventus’ most trusted players, making his departure particularly significant.

Juventus Slow Pursuit of Pellegrino

Juventus therefore wanted Pellegrino to become one of the attackers added to their squad. The player was open to the move, while Parma were also willing to consider a transfer provided the Bianconeri met their asking price.

However, Juventus have failed to make significant progress in recent weeks. Their lack of movement has created an opportunity for another club to enter the race, potentially putting the Bianconeri at risk of losing one of their preferred attacking targets.

Pellegrino remains a player Juventus would like to sign, but their slow progress has allowed the situation to change. The club now face competition from a Serie A rival that appears to be moving more quickly.

Fiorentina Enter Race for Pellegrino

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Fiorentina are now advancing in talks to sign Pellegrino ahead of Juventus. Their growing interest could give Parma another option and make it harder for the Bianconeri to complete the transfer.

Juventus would still like to bring the attacker to Turin, but their recent inactivity could prove costly. After landing Randal Kolo Muani, the Bianconeri have been relatively quiet in their pursuit of Pellegrino, allowing Fiorentina to make progress.

The situation now leaves Juventus needing to decide whether to step up their efforts. If they remain passive, Fiorentina could take advantage and complete a deal for the attacker before the Bianconeri make their move.

Pellegrino was open to joining Juventus, but that willingness may not be enough if Fiorentina reach an agreement with Parma first. The Bianconeri could now lose a player they had identified as a useful attacking addition simply because they did not advance negotiations quickly enough.
