One aspect of the Georgia Bulldogs' team that nobody is talking about entering the 2026 college football season is special teams. Georgia's top special teams player is kicker Peyton Woodring, who is coming off an elite 2025 season.
Despite a strong 2025 campaign and consistent career, Woodring did not earn All-SEC honors like the rest of Georgia's specialists. Woodring at least deserved to be named to the All-SEC third-team over Auburn's Alex McPherson. He is one of the best kickers in the country and will prove it again this fall.
Last season, Woodring missed just two field goals all season. He went 17 of 19 with his only misses being on attempts of 40 yards or more. Woodring has made 88.1% of his field goal attempts in his college career and has gone 17 of 21 on kicks over 40 yards over the past two seasons.
Woodring's reliability will be tested a bit more in 2026 with Georgia losing All-SEC long snapper Beau Gardner to the NFL. Woodring will put up a lot of points this fall and is an integral part of the Georgia team. It is much less stressful for fans to watch a consistent kicker. The Bulldogs have not had a roller coaster season from a kicker in a long time thanks to Georgia's consistent elite recruiting and development at the position.
