Hamilton West Side Little League World Series opener postponed

The highly anticipated Little League World Series opener for Hamilton's West Side will have to wait a bit longer.

Due to inclement weather on-site in Williamsport, Pa., Little League has postponed all of Thursday's games to Friday, Aug. 21. West Side, representing Ohio and the Great Lakes region, was originally scheduled to play the Mountain-region champs Nevada at 2 p.m.

West Side is now slated for a 9 a.m. first pitch against Nevada on Friday. With the change in schedule, ESPN will no longer be broadcasting the game.

Here's the full rundown of Aug. 21's new schedule:

9 a.m. – Game 5: Australia (V) vs. Mexico (H) – Volunteer Stadium 

9 a.m. – Game 6: Great Lakes, Hamilton (V) vs. Mountain (H) – Lamade Stadium

12 p.m. – Game 7: Japan (V) vs. Curacao (H) – Volunteer Stadium 

12 p.m. – Game 8: West (V) vs. Midwest (H) – Lamade Stadium 

3 p.m. – Game 9: Latin America (V) vs. Panama (H) – Volunteer Stadium 

3 p.m. – Game 10: Northwest (V) vs. Southwest (H) – Lamade Stadium 

6 p.m. – Game 11: Asia-Pacific (V) vs. Europe and Africa (H) – Volunteer Stadium

7 p.m. – Game 12: Mid-Atlantic (V) vs. Metro (H) – Lamade Stadium

A full broadcast schedule will be released later.
