The Hawks scored five touchdowns in the first quarter alone, with Chaetton Osborne, Trexon Madsen, and Seth Burningham each finding the end zone. Jesse Nuttall hauled in a 68-yard touchdown pass from Luke Lee in the 3rd quarter to extend the lead to 50-0 at halftime. Trevor Mann rushed for 157 yards to pace North Sanpete’s ground game as the Hawks’ offense was in complete control throughout the night.

Logan 25, Summit Academy 21Logan (1-0) secured a debut win for new head coach Justin Hugie with a thrilling 25-21 comeback victory over Summit Academy in a nonregion game. Royce Sargent clinched the win with a 2-yard touchdown run with just 17 seconds remaining, capping off a remarkable fourth-quarter surge for the Grizzlies. Logan trailed 21-3 early in the final period but rallied with three touchdowns, including two scoring plays involving Sargent and quarterback Easton Favero. Summit Academy (-1) initially took the lead in the first quarter with a 19-yard touchdown pass from Rigby Young to Beckham Meredith and maintained it until the final minutes. Snow Canyon 64, Spanish Fork 62Snow Canyon outlasted Spanish Fork in a triple-overtime thriller, with Parker Olson connecting with Brody Lounsbury on the go-ahead two-point conversion in the third overtime period for the 64-62 nonregion victory. Olson passed for 402 yards and five touchdowns in the high-scoring affair, while Spanish Fork’s Nixon Warren caught 10 passes for 268 yards and five touchdowns in the losing effort. The Warriors trailed 14-7 after the first quarter but kept pace throughout the back-and-forth contest, which remained close through regulation before heading to overtime. Spanish Fork scored first in triple OT, but missed its two-point conversion. Brody Lounsbury tied it with a 13-yard TD run, and then won it with the ensuing two-point conversion.

The Tigers scored 21 points in the second quarter to seize control early, with Titan Borchardt accounting for two touchdowns—a 48-yard pass reception and a 29-yard run. RJ Allred added two rushing touchdowns for Hurricane, while Drake Gines also scored on the ground.
Grantsville 30, San Juan 20Grantsville (1-0) overcame an early deficit to defeat San Juan 30-20 in a non-region game. San Juan struck first with two touchdowns in the opening quarter, but Grantsville answered with 13 unanswered points in the second quarter, including a 9-yard scoring run by Carter Bell. Bell added two more rushing touchdowns in the second half to put the Cowboys in control. San Juan briefly challenged late when Brigg Palmer caught a 39-yard touchdown pass from Beau Yeomans with 5:25 left in the fourth quarter but it was not enough.
Moapa Valley, Nev. 27, Beaver 21Davis Carter’s impressive efforts were not enough for Beaver (0-1) as they fell to Moapa Valley in a nonregion game, 27-21. Carter scored three touchdowns, including two rushing scores in the second quarter at 8:25 and 1:12, which temporarily put Beaver ahead 15-7. However, the Pirates responded with a strong third quarter, putting up 14 points to seize control of the game. Moapa Valley added another touchdown in the fourth quarter to secure their victory. Carter also connected with Emmet Lurth for a 24-yard touchdown pass with 15 seconds left in the third quarter, but Beaver couldn’t find the end zone in the final quarter, sealing their fate.
Lincoln County, Nev. 35, Parowan 28Lincoln County, Nev. defeated Parowan (0-1) 35-28 in a nonregion matchup. The Lynx built an early lead with 12 points in the first quarter and 8 more in the second before the Rams scored 14 points in the second quarter to cut the deficit. Parowan pulled within a touchdown late in the fourth quarter when Benson Haynie caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from Tyson Bettridge with 38 seconds remaining, but Lincoln County held on for the win. Haynie was a key target for the Rams, catching three touchdown passes from Bettridge, including another score of 28 yards with 1:22 left in the fourth quarter.
Orem 16, Kamehameha, Hawaii 7Orem (1-0) started their season with a strong defensive performance, defeating Kamehameha, Hawaii 16-7 on the road. The Tigers secured the victory late in the game with Brooks Ross catching a pivotal 21-yard touchdown pass from Rock Speredon with 9:37 remaining in the fourth quarter. This added to JaVoni Halalilo’s 60-yard interception return for a touchdown, which gave Orem an early lead in the first quarter. Adrian Sanchez chipped in with a 29-yard field goal in the third quarter. Despite Kamehameha tying the game at 7-7 with a score in the second quarter, they were unable to overcome Orem’s defensive tenacity, failing to find the end zone again.

Grand 53, Water Canyon 38Grand (1-0) defeated Water Canyon (0-1) 53-38 in a 1A 8-player nonregion matchup, with Beto Carroll leading the Red Devils’ offensive attack. Carroll caught three touchdown passes from Justin Kimmerle, including a 49-yard score in the third quarter and a 27-yard reception with 6:15 left in the fourth quarter. Water Canyon jumped to a 22-8 lead after one quarter behind Deagan Williams, who threw touchdown passes to Gabe Cooke on plays of 88 and 77 yards, but Grand outscored the Wildcats 45-16 the rest of the way. Kimmerle connected with four different receivers for touchdowns to pace Grand’s balanced attack.
Thursday’s gamesCedar City 29, Wasatch 19Cedar City (1-0) opened its season with a 29-19 victory over Wasatch in a nonregion game. The Reds scored 14 points in the second quarter to build an early lead, with Cody Stevenson catching an 80-yard touchdown pass from Jackson Mann. Wasatch kept pace early behind a 55-yard field goal from Austin Wilde and an 80-yard scoring run by Bryce Harr in the second quarter. Cedar City pulled away in the second half with two touchdown passes from Mann to Hunter Burgess, including a 67-yard score in the fourth quarter that sealed the win.
Stansbury 14, Skyline 10Stansbury (1-0) opened its season with a 14-10 victory over Skyline in a defensive struggle. The Stallions scored twice in the second half, with Lincoln Reutzel catching touchdown passes from Brighton Reutzel of 4 yards in the third quarter and 9 yards with 7:22 remaining in the fourth. Skyline (0-1) got on the board first with a 27-yard field goal by Matthew Payne, then added a 38-yard touchdown pass from Tate Johnson to Tu’i Will with 35 seconds left in the first half, but couldn’t find the end zone again. The nonregion matchup was decided in the final quarter as Stansbury’s offense pulled away.
Mountain Ridge 41, Skyridge 26Mountain Ridge (1-0) opened its season with a dominant 41-26 nonregion victory over Skyridge (0-1). Jaxon Hunt orchestrated the Sentinels’ offense, throwing four touchdown passes including an 82-yard strike to Xander Thayer in the second quarter. Bradley Foster rushed for 216 yards and added two touchdowns for Mountain Ridge. Skyridge kept pace early, with Jagger Fountaine throwing three touchdown passes, but Mountain Ridge pulled away with 28 points over the final two quarters.
