Sale enters the game at 12-8 with a 2.16 ERA and 1.02 WHIP across 129 innings. The veteran left-hander continues to perform at an elite level for Atlanta and will be tasked with slowing down a Milwaukee lineup that has helped the Brewers enter Friday with a 79-49 record.
Misiorowski, often called “The Miz,” has been even more dominant for Milwaukee. The right-hander enters Friday at 12-5 with a 1.75 ERA and an outstanding 0.75 WHIP over 139 innings. His combination of velocity and strikeout ability makes him one of baseball’s most difficult pitchers to face.
The matchup also carries plenty of weight in the National League race. Milwaukee enters Friday at 79-49, while Atlanta is 75-53, putting two of the NL’s top clubs against each other as the regular season heads toward September.
Atlanta will counter Milwaukee’s pitching with a lineup led at the top by Ronald Acuña Jr., Drake Baldwin and Matt Olson. At the same time, Milwaukee has Jackson Chourio, Brice Turang and William Contreras among the key bats trying to solve Sale.
With Sale facing Misiorowski and two contenders opening an important late-August series, Braves vs. Brewers is one of Friday’s must-watch MLB games. First pitch is set for 4:10 p.m. ET, with the game available to stream on ESPN Unlimited.
