Ja'Kobi Lane at USC was a dynamic weapon with a unique skill set that, at times, made him unguardable. Now in the NFL, that skill set will be used to help one of the best quarterbacks in the league, Lamar Jackson, get back to playing like an MVP.
In a recent article, Jamison Hensley discusses how former Trojan Ja'Kobi Lane is faring at Ravens training camp. Here is what he had to say:
"Later, in one-on-one drills, Lane showed his playmaking ability again, using a double move to get behind cornerback T.J. Tampa and catching a long touchdown pass from Jackson.
This has been an outstanding start to camp for Lane, a third-round pick from USC who has become the team's No. 3 wide receiver behind Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman. On Thursday, Lane first electrified the crowd by elevating over two defenders for a leaping, 30-yard catch over the middle."
Lamar now having a physical threat to get the ball to on the outside will only elevate the Ravens' offense. That is the one thing Jackson has missed so far in his career in Baltimore. Lane is making a name for himself at Ravens camp, but anyone who watched the Trojans last year or the last few seasons knows that is not surprising in the slightest. The Ravens were already an imposing and lethal offense; now, after adding a USC Trojan, they are going to take it to a new level.
