LAS VEGAS – Joe Kropschot put on an inspired performance Tuesday at DWCS 87. But no one really knew till afterward just how inspired it was.
Kropschot said his father died just two days before the his fight against Jon Kunneman, which he won by unanimous decision. Kropschot nearly had the fight finished with a vicious armbar that Kunneman refused to tap from – and apparently broke his arm.
“That armbar at the end, it popped like eight times. It was that bent. His elbow bent the other direction. It's not supposed to bend this way. It was the complete other direction,” Kropschot told MMA Junkie and other media after the fight at the Meta APEX. “I just I thought I fought a good fight. I saw all his punches coming. I could have finished him probably, but I'll you'll see more finishes from me in the future.”
