Josh Wilkinson named Patrick Henry High School’s new athletic director

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) -- The Patrick Henry Patriots have a new person in charge of the school's athletic department and he is a familiar name. Roanoke City Public Schools in July tapped long time PH boys lacrosse head coach Josh Wilkinson as the Patriots new athletic director replacing Lee Johnson. Wilkinson last spring wrapped up his 32nd season leading the Patriots boys lacrosse program. He's won more than 300 games including 8 regional titles, 5 state quarterfinals appearances, 3 state semifinals appearances. Wilkinson led Patrick Henry to 2017 VHSL 5A boys lacrosse state title. Wilkinson shares his new role of being in charge of Patrick Henry athletics.
"It's been a pleasure the first couple weeks on the job. I mean we have an excellent staff at Patrick Henry. I've known a lot of the longtime coaches for many years. It's a pleasure working with them. They make my job easier. We have great athletes and great coaches so it's it's been it's been a good transition," said Wilkinson. Wilkinson will be looking for his replacement as PH's head boys lacrosse coach.
