The Kentucky Wildcats volleyball team opened their 2026 season with a win over Wisconsin. It was an impressive 3-0 sweep of a top ten Badgers team, and a great start to what could be another fantastic season in Lexington.
Today, the Cats follow up that victory with another battle against a top five team. The Pittsburgh Panthers are ranked in the top five, and have the potential to dominate. Star Olivia Babcock was fantastic in Pitt's win over Kentucky last year, and will have to be the focus again today.
For the Wildcats, Brooklyn DeLeye and Morgan Gaerte both had very good debuts, while Lizzie Carr was also key in their win over Wisconsin. Defense will be important today, and they'll need to get some blocks. Kentucky must also avoid unforced mistakes, and passing must be on point.
