The Kentucky Wildcats are going to have talent all over the field this upcoming season. With several defensive EDGEs ranked among the top-returning rushers in the SEC, Pro Football Focus released another ranking that featured a Kentucky talent.
This time, it was Tavion Gadson, who is ranked as the second-best returning defensive tackle in the conference. He is only second to Auburn Tigers' Cody Sigler, who was clearly above the pack. Oklahoma, South Carolina and Vanderbilt are the lone programs with multiple players on the list and are also going to have premier defensive lines.
As for Gadson, he really started to bloom last season, having been with the Cats for all three of his collegiate seasons. Gadson played in four games as a freshman, totaling just one combined tackle, and then he was redshirted as a sophomore. As a redshirt sophomore, he ended with 28 combined tackles, four of which went for a loss, and 2.5 sacks. He played in 11 games.
That said, here's the rundown of the entire defensive tackle list that PFF released.

The Cats defensive line is going to be a clear strength of the team. For Jay Bateman, he's going to need all the help he can get during his first season leading the Kentucky defense. The Cats brought in Will Stein to lead the program after parting ways with Mark Stoops, and Stein is certainly more of an offensive-oriented mastermind, having led the Oregon Ducks attack last season.
That said, Gadson is going to play an integral role in the Cats' gameplan, and if they're going to succeed in limiting opponents, especially with the Alabama Crimson Tide on deck in Week 2 action, getting to the quarterback is going to be crucial.
