In a remarkable display of athleticism, Kiantai Harris, a junior running back for Science Hill, etched his name into the school's history books during a game on Friday night. Harris rushed for an astonishing 367 yards on 25 carries, leading the Hilltoppers to a decisive 49-28 victory against Morristown West.
Harris's performance not only secured the win for his team but also established a new single-game rushing record for Science Hill, surpassing a mark that had stood since 1988. Reflecting on his achievement, Harris expressed his surprise at breaking the record, stating, “I really didn’t wake up thinking I was going to do the record, but the coaches gave me the opportunity and I took it. I didn’t look back, and I’m grateful that I got the record. It feels great.”
Head coach Stacy Carter praised Harris for his exceptional talent, noting that such a record is a significant milestone. “A record that stands since 1988 is pretty special,” Carter remarked. “He made some unbelievable runs, and there’s just not many kids that can do what he’s done.” This endorsement from his coach highlights the unique skills that Harris possesses, which have made him a standout player on the team.

He aims to earn all-conference and possibly all-regional honors, while also aspiring to lead his team to a state championship. “My goal, I want to be all-conference this year, maybe all-regional, win a state championship obviously, and just make my mom proud,” he shared, demonstrating his determination and drive.
