The rumour mill has gone into overdrive at Liverpool over the last couple of months.
Talk of Arne Slot staying and then eventually being sacked has emerged while many different players have been linked with moves so that the Reds can try and improve their ranks.
Because, at the end of the day, them only managing to finish fifth in the Premier League is miles away from where they need to be.
That's why Andoni Iraola was appointed and it's also why so many players have been linked with joining the Anfield outfit this summer.
However, away from the transfer market, there's also a lot of work that needs to go on behind the scenes with many of their first-team squad's contracts expiring in June 2027.
Talks between Liverpool and some of their players have began to emerge but now, it feels like their most important agreement to date is edging closer.
Rio Ngumoha is going to be offered a five year contract by LiverpoolAt the moment, Liverpool's depth is nowhere near as strong as it needs it be.
They may have added a couple of new defenders to their ranks this summer but, their midfield and attack could still do with a lot of work being done to them.
That is, especially since Richard Hughes still hasn't sourced a replacement for Mohamed Salah yet.
Certain players among their ranks such as Victor Munoz, Lewis Koumas and Federico Chiesa can all be used there if needed but, on paper, none of these players seem good enough to make that much of a difference to games for Liverpool.
This has caused many questions to arise with Rio Ngumoha even getting linked to become the Reds' new starting right-winger.
And now, thanks to an update from Paul Joyce, Liverpool seem to be edging closer to securing his future.
"Ngumoha turns 18 at the end of the month and will be able to sign a five-year contract which should reflect the strides he has made over the last year," Paul Joyce wrote.
"The trip to Newcastle will reaffirm those, though it is the journey he must continue to undertake, together with the hurdles he must overcome, that will determine how high his star rises."
Rio Ngumoha is going to become a key part of Andoni Iraola's plans at LiverpoolFans can already tell that things are going to be different under Iraola.
In one of his first interviews the Spaniard mentioned how important it is for him to include academy players in his plans for the first-team.
This has been made obvious by Liverpool's recent U-turn on allowing James McConnell to leave and the fact that Trey Nyoni is expected to play a major part for the Reds this season.
Ngumoha is obviously the pick of the bunch and, with this new five-year deal being lined up, it's clear that he's going to have a major role to play at Liverpool this season.
Even if he does get used as a right-winger instead of a left-winger, the attacker is likely to thrive due to his explosiveness and his unpredictability.
At the moment, it's unclear exactly what Liverpool's plans are going to be but, as long as Ngumoha is a part of them, everything should go swimmingly.
