Manchester United have reached an agreement with Brighton to sign Carlos Baleba, the Press Association understands.
Michael Carrick’s side have undergone a midfield rebuild this summer having seen the influential Casemiro depart before Manuel Ugarte suffered a serious knee injury.
United last month signed Aston Villa star Youri Tielemans and Chelsea’s Andrey Santos, and PA understands a deal was reached with Brighton for Baleba on Friday night.
The terms of the deal are not yet known for a player the Red Devils approached Albion about last summer, although it is reported to be a £65-million ($88.7-million) fee with £5 million in add-ons.
