NBA 2K27, the latest installment in the popular video game franchise, is scheduled to be released on Sept. 4, with some people getting early access starting on Aug. 28. With a few weeks to go before it becomes available, some of its player ratings have been leaked.
One may not expect Matisse Thybulle, a wing the Los Angeles Lakers recently signed to a one-year, $2.45 million contract, to be rated highly in NBA 2K27. But Thybulle has established himself over the years as a defensive pest, and he was twice named to the All-Defensive second team.
Thus, the video game series has rewarded him. In the category of steals, he has a 98 rating, which puts him second among all players just behind the Detroit Pistons' Ausar Thompson.

Thybulle, 29, has a career average of 1.6 steals in 20.6 minutes a game, and last season, he was at two steals in 16 minutes a game. He also has a career average of 0.8 blocks per game, as he is a threat to reject shots, especially as a help defender.
As long as he stays healthy (he appeared in a total of just 45 games over the last two years), he can make an impact on the Lakers, especially since he has become an excellent 3-point shooter over the last couple of seasons.
