On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Rams welcomed the Dallas Cowboys to their Woodland Hills facility as both teams participated in a joint practice that saw some familiar faces come home for a brief moment. One of those faces was defensive back Cobie Durant. After four solid years with the Rams, Durant signed with the Cowboys this offseason, taking his ball-hawking talents to the Lone Star State.
Affectionately known as the "Land Shark," Durant was a beloved teammate during his time with the team. In his post-practice press conference, quarterback Matthew Stafford spoke about Durant, calling him one of his favorite teammates.
“It is fun," said Stafford of practicing against Durant. "He's one of my favorite teammates. I love being around him and loved seeing him today. He used to always run out of the tunnel… he’s the ‘Land Shark’ and I was always giving it back to him. I was a big fan. He made a bunch of big-time plays for us so it was great to see him again. He is a really talented player, makes plays on the football, great transition skills, movement skills and is a physical guy. It was good to see him and good to get to practice against him."
During his time in Los Angeles, Durant won the 2025 Black College Football Pro Player of the Year award, while earning a starting role as a versatile outside cornerback. Durant started in 39 regular-season games during his career and recorded four interceptions in his final five playoff games as a member of the organization.
