After returning to the practice field on Monday following their weekend off, the Miami Dolphins held their 13th training camp session Tuesday morning at their Baptist Health Training Complex.
Miami has a joint practice scheduled with the New York Giants later in the week before they host John Harbaugh's team for a preseason matchup at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday.
Before we get there, though, here's everything that happened at practice on Tuesday, according to beat reporters on the scene.
- The Miami Herald's Omar Kelly reported that cornerback JuJu Brents, who has been sideline with an injury for the past couple of weeks, was back practicing on Tuesday. Wide receiver Kevin Coleman Jr. also returned to team period.
- Kelly also noted that Zach Sieler, Clelin Ferrell, ben Sims, Quinn Ewers, Jordyn Brooks, Kenneth Grant and Robert Beal Jr. were all practicing on the side while recovering from injuries. However, safety Dante Trader Jr. did return to 11-on-11s.
- The South Florida Sun-Sentinel's David Furones reported that wide receiver Chris Bell, who was activated from NFI on Monday was on the field again Tuesday and is still in a red non-contact jersey. Interestingly, Bell did participate in some 11-on-11s.
- The Miami Herald's C. Isaiah Smalls II reported that rookie linebacker Kyle Louis, once again, worked with the safeities on Tuesday.
- Kelly noted that rookie offensive lineman DJ Campbell struggled during his one-on-ones reps.
- Dolphins team reporter Travis Winfield reported that cornerback A.J. Green III, who has impressed in camp, had an interception and a pass defensed in one-on-ones.
- Quarterback Malik Willis tried to get a ball to wide receiver Malik Washington, but his throw was short and was nearly intercepted by cornerback Jason Marshall Jr.
- Linebackers Trey Moore and Willie Gay stuffed running back Jaylen Wright for a loss.
- Linebacker David Ojabo beat converted offensive lineman James Ester for a tackle for a loss.
- Safety Zayne Anderson brought the heat and got to Willis for a sack.
- Willis took a designed run for 20+ yards.
- Quarterback Cam Miller, who is serving as the top backup with Ewers out, found wide receiver Tutu Atwell, who made a fantastic one-handed catch with cornerback Marco Wilson right there.
- Miller rushed for a 15-yard touchdown with blocks from Coleman and tight end Seydou Traore.
- First-round pick Chris Johnson broke up a pass intended for third-round pick Caleb Douglas. Safety Michael Taaffe then broke up a Willis pass for Washington.
- Willis responded by hitting Washington in stride for a chunk gain. He did the same a few plays later as well.
- Ojabo beat offensive tackle Charlie Heck to sack Miller.
- Defensive back Miles Battle broke up a pass from quarterback Mark Gronowski, who recently re-signed with Miami, to wide receiver Donaven McCulley.
- Willis had an issue securing the ball on an option, as the ball popped out and second-round pick Jacob Rodriguez returned it for a long touchdown.
- Linebacker Chop Robinson put right tackle Austin Jackson on his back and got to Willis behind the line.
- Miller scrambled and found Coleman for a 20-yard touchdown, which the Palm Beach Post's Joe Schad called "the best play of the day."
- Willis found Coleman for an 11-yard touchdown with rookie defensive end Max Llewellyn bearing down. He then hit Washington for a two-point conversion.
- Defensive end Rodney McGraw forced Miller to throw the ball away on the first play of his situational drive. Defensive lineman Keith Cooper Jr. and linebacker Tyrel Dodson take Miller down on the next two plays before the quarterback misses wide receiver AJ Henning on fourth down.
