Tiger Style has another world champion.

Missouri wrestling All-American Aeoden Sinclair won gold at the U20 World Wrestling Championship on Friday in Bratislava, Slovakia, to become the third member of coach Brian Smith’s program to win a title at the event since 2021.

Sinclair defeated Akhmad Mukotov of Russia 8-4 in the final at 86 kilograms to secure the gold medal for the United States. He scored eight unanswered points in the victory.

The third-year Mizzou wrestler joins program great Keegan O’Toole and Rocky Elam as recent U20 world champions from the program.

O’Toole, who recently announced he has retired from competition and joined MU as a full-time assistant coach, was the U20 champion at 74kg, and Rocky Elam won gold at 92kg in 2021.

Sinclair, who competes at 184 pounds for Missouri, finished third in his weight class at the national championship last season to earn All-American status. He also won the Big 12 title, going 36-2 over the course of his second year on campus.

The Edgerton, Wisconsin, native is scheduled to compete in the U23 World Championship in Las Vegas on Oct. 12-18. Per a team news release, Sinclair is competing to become the first Missouri wrestler to win both the U20 and U23 world titles in the same year.
