Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever clinched a spot in the 2026 Playoffs after the 9-seeded Portland Fire lost 82-79 to the Toronto Tempo. The official X account for the Fever has since released a hype video to commemorate this accomplishment.

Fans across social media took to X to celebrate as the Fever became the fourth team, after the Minnesota Lynx, Golden State Valkyries, and Las Vegas Aces, to clinch a postseason berth.

Indy recently went on a five-game winning streak before it was snapped by a 91-85 loss to the Dallas Wings on August 20, leaving the team with a 24-13 record at the time of the postseason clinch.

“Job’s not done, let’s tighten up and get this championship this year,” said Jason, an online sports fan.

They also said, “I assure you no team wants to face the Indiana Fever in the playoffs; believe the narratives if you want!!!”

Kyle Ingram posted a simple video of CC calming the crowd down from a Wings-Fever game to signal to other Fever fans to take this accomplishment easy.

Fever fan Jamie Lardis quote-tweeted the Fever’s post and said, “Yep! We clinched. Playoffs bound baby! Championship loading.”

The Fever feature a dynamic duo on the offensive end of the floor with Clark and Kelsey Mitchell.

Clark has established herself as an MVP candidate, with Robert Griffin III proclaiming her to be the definitive choice for MVP ahead of the likes of Olivia Miles and A’ja Wilson.

She also became the only player to average 26 points and 9 assists over a 10-game span in WNBA history earlier this month, showcasing just how brilliant she is at manning a half-court offense while getting her own shots up.

Mitchell, on the other hand, broke A’ja Wilson’s record for the most consecutive 20+-point games as she recorded her 21 against the Wings, dropping 37 points in the loss.

Clark and Mitchell’s scoring contributes directly to the fact that the Fever are the number one-ranked offense in the league with an ORTG of 116. They also have the third-best net rating at +6.4.

As for Indy’s defense, while they don’t rank at the top of the WNBA in DRTG (9th in the league), they have showcased significant prowess in limiting opponent offenses while also going off on their own end of the floor.

The Fever rank first in the league in ‘NetEff’, a metric that calculates the difference in shooting efficiency between a team and its opponents. Indy sits at a comfortable +8.1.

With all the positives that the Fever possess on both ends of the floor, they still aren’t the favorites to win the 2026 championship. The Minnesota Lynx, with a record of 31-7, are the current favorites, and overwhelmingly so, with some oddsmakers having them hovering around the +100 mark.

However, with Olivia Miles tweaking her ankle against the Valkyries on August 19, some fans believe there is an opening for teams like the Aces, GSV, and even the current fourth-seeded Fever.
