Oban Camanachd shocked holders Kingussie 2-1 in extra time to win the MacAulay Cup at Mossfield Park in Oban.

It was a repeat of the 2023 scoreline and also ends Kingussie's hopes of a Grand Slam of all four of shinty's top senior honours.

Ross Campbell shot Camanachd ahead after 17 minutes and only 13 remained when Kingussie's MacLeod Dawson sent the final to extra time.

Ross MacMillan grabbed the winner - and a huge boost for south shinty - midway through the first half of the extra period.

Kingussie's challenge to retain their Premiership title was also made more difficult when leaders Newtonmore defeated bottom side Kyles 5-0 at the Eilan to go six points clear, although Kingussie have two games in hand.

Matthew Sloss led the Newtonmore charge with a double, with strikes also from Brodie MacBean and James Coyle in addition to an Iain MacFarlane own goal completing the scoring.

Col Glen grabbed a modest relegation lifeline with a surprise 1-1 draw with Fort William at Clachan of Glendaruel. Greg Kelly opened for Fort on the hour before Andrew MacVicar's equaliser for the south Argyll side.

The draw allowed Col Glen to get within a point of Skye in the safety of eighth place after the island side went down 3-2 at home to Caberfeidh, but Skye have three games in hand.

A Blair Morrison double split by a goal from Gavin McLaughlan had Cabers 3-0 up at half time and Dan MacDonald's second half double for Skye just wasn't enough in response.

Kilmallie kept their still distant hopes of promotion to the Premiership alive with a 3-0 home win over Beauly. Martin Stewart opened and Shane O'Rua followed up with a double.

Bute and visitors Glasgow Mid Argyll drew 2-2 in the other National Division game.
