New England Patriots second-year offensive tackle Marcus Bryant was helped off the field in Saturday's preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles with an ankle injury.
Bryant, a 2025 seventh-round draft pick, had his leg rolled up on in the first quarter and remained on the ground before trainers came out to assist him. He was immediately ruled out for the rest of the game, per ESPN's Mike Reiss.
The Patriots have had bad luck on the offensive line in recent weeks. Ben Brown and Andrew Rupcich both left last week's preseason opener against the Indianapolis Colts with injuries. Bryant has had a solid training camp up to this point and was vying for a backup swing tackle job.
With Bryant out, the Patriots turned to rookie sixth-round pick Dametrious Crownover to fill in at the right tackle position.
Morgan Moses is currently the starting right tackle, and Will Campbell is the starting left tackle. The Patriots also used their first-round pick on rookie Caleb Lomu, who has worked in as an extra swing tackle.
