PSG have reached an agreement to loan their young, academy produced right back Yoram Zague to Cyprus for the year, to play with Pafos.

The 20 year old has just two years left on his PSG contract, and they are likely just hoping he plays well for a year so they can recoup a small fee next summer.

Zague was a key player in the team that won the French U19 league in 2023-2024, playing with first team stars Senny Mayulu and Ibrahim Mbaye,

Benjamin Quarez writes for Le Parisian that the defender, who spent the last two seasons on loan, first at Copenhagen then at Eupen in Belgium, is set to leave Paris in the “coming days.”

Pafos are hardly a big name, but they are building a squad that can compete domestically and in Europe. They were in the Champions League last season, and have just been knocked out of the Europa League qualifiers this year.

They also have former PSG man David Luiz in their team.

It’s a one year loan for Zague, but it contains an option to buy for the Cypriot side.

In other news…

PSG’s asking price for Ibrahim Mbaye is pretty significant – they could end up scaring off Liverpool if they stick to it.

If both Barcola and Mbaye go, there is some talk that PSG would consider making another attacking addition this summer.

There have been some claims this week that Liverpool are in direct talks with Ibrahim Mbaye over personal terms – but the Athletic have denied them strongly.
