Midway through Raiders' Monday' training camp practice, Jackson Powers-Johnson left the field with an apparent injury. That afternoon they headed for Houston for join practices. And when the team took the field, JPJ was not among them. Shortly thereafter he appeared in street clothes.

— Sam Warren (@samwarren83) August 18, 2026The third-year offensive lineman has been in a battle for a starting job since he entered the league as the Raiders pick at 44 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. His first season, the Rimington Award winner was trying to prove he was an NFL center and he did get the nod there late in his rookie season.
Last season he was moved back to guard and was the starter on the right side until he was lost to injury, opening the door for rookie Caleb Rogers.
Rogers played well enough to share reps with JPJ this training camp at that spot. Now with JPJ injured again, that door would be held wide open again for Rogers to prove he belongs.
We'll see what happens in Thursday's preseaon game, but it would appear at this moment that Rogers is likely to get the start.
