Over the course of the 2026 season, the Boston Red Sox have been arguably the MLB’s premier story, as one of the best examples of a zero-to-hero team in the past few years.

Boston started as one of the worst teams in baseball, and are now one of its best; all thanks to a legendary winning streak, from late July to early August.

Now, Boston has stumbled a bit in the past couple weeks, but that electric offense that started the streak is still here, and better than ever.

The Streak

On June 24th, Boston flew home from Denver, after losing a series against the Colorado Rockies, solidifying the Sox as the worst team in the MLB. Then and there, Boston decided enough was enough.

They then swept their next series against the New York Yankees in four games, lost a series to the Washington Nationals, and then went on a franchise record-tying win streak of 15 games.

From June 25th to August 7th, the Red Sox posted a record of 32-5, with a 15-game win streak, and a nine-game win streak.

The Red Sox stumbled a bit after the 7th, though, losing five games in a row. However, they are now recovering, going 4-3 in their last seven.

Boston also still has one awesome claim throughout that rut, and that’s having the best offense in the MLB in the past 30 days. They are No. 1 in OPS, RBI, runs, doubles, OBP, SLG, BA, and HRs.

Combining this kind of firepower with the already top-tier pitching staff Boston had, and the Red Sox could really gear up for something special come October.

A postseason run?

The Red Sox are currently 68-59, with the third best record in the American League. Although, that doesn’t really help them, when the two records above them, the Tampa Bay Rays and the Yankees, are also in their division

So, it looks like another Wild Card appearance is likely for Boston. They are only four games behind the Yankees, and they have one more series against New York soon, which is also four games. If they can take that series, or somehow sweep them again, Boston could claim the top Wild Card spot, and homefield advantage come October.

Hopefully, the Red Sox have one last streak in them, and finish the season strong.
