The Ravens have been dealt a significant blow in their effort to replace center Tyler Linderbaum.
According to a report from NFL Network, Danny Pinter suffered a torn patellar tendon during Wednesday’s joint practice with the Vikings.
The injury will likely end Pinter’s season.
Pinter had been working with the Ravens’ starters at center throughout the offseason and training camp after Linderbaum departed the club via free agency, signing a lucrative deal with the Raiders.
A career backup who was previously with the Colts, Pinter has appeared in 77 career games with 10 starts. Indianapolis selected Pinter in the fifth round of the 2020 draft.
Baltimore’s other options at center appear to be veteran Ethan Pocic, who signed with the Ravens in July, and Jovaughn Gwyn, who signed with the Ravens in March.
