The Charlotte Hornets may have a new but familiar look during the 2026-27 season. Although it has yet to be confirmed, reports suggest that the Hornets will bring back their city edition jerseys from the 2017-18 campaign. Of all Charlotte's city edition jerseys throughout the years, these were fan favorites. The jersey is black and worn with black shorts but has the iconic purple and teal colors down the side with the words "Buzz City" above the jersey number.
Of all players in team history to wear the jersey, fans won't forget about Kemba Walker, who made an All-Star appearance for Charlotte that season. During the 2017-18 campaign, Walker averaged 22.1 points, 5.6 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals. Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductee Dwight Howard is another notable player to sport the city edition jersey, as his lone season with Charlotte came that year. In 81 games for the Hornets, Howard averaged 16.6 points, 12.5 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 0.6 steals.
