As the 2026 NFL season approaches, fans of NFL RedZone can look forward to a more streamlined viewing experience with fewer advertisements. Scott Hanson, the long-time host of the popular program, has confirmed that viewers will notice a reduction in commercial interruptions compared to the previous season.

In recent years, NFL RedZone has seen a significant increase in advertising. Initially, the show was ad-free, allowing fans to enjoy uninterrupted coverage of live NFL action. However, in 2024, viewers began to notice the first signs of commercial breaks, which escalated in 2025. By Week 1 of that season, four ads were introduced, and by Week 13, the number had surged to 16 commercials during broadcasts, leading to viewer dissatisfaction.

Addressing these concerns, Hanson stated, “I could tell you from where we ended last year, there will not be more.” He emphasized that the number of traditional 15-second commercials would be reduced, aiming to maintain the essence of what makes NFL RedZone appealing to its audience. This commitment to fewer ads is part of an effort to enhance the viewing experience, which has been a hallmark of the program since its inception.

While the complete elimination of advertisements is unlikely, Hanson reassured fans that segment sponsorships, such as the 'Mercedes-Benz Drive of the Day' and the 'Allstate Good Hands Play of the Day,' will continue without being classified as traditional commercials. These sponsorships allow for brand integration without interrupting the flow of the game, offering a compromise that keeps the essence of NFL RedZone intact.

Despite the changes, Hanson acknowledges that the presence of ads has become a point of contention among viewers. He noted, “Our promise to you is we never miss a touchdown,” reiterating that any commercial breaks will be strategically placed during less action-packed moments, such as when teams are transitioning back to the huddle.

As the NFL RedZone prepares for the upcoming season, Hanson encourages fans to give the show another chance, stating, “If you loved RedZone two years ago before there was ever a 15-second standalone commercial, try us this year and see if it’s not still the show that you love to watch and set your calendar by every year.” This optimistic outlook aims to reassure fans that the core experience they cherish will remain largely unchanged.

With the NFL season just around the corner, the anticipation for RedZone's return is palpable. Fans are eager to see how the adjustments in advertising will impact their viewing experience, and whether the show will continue to deliver the thrilling, fast-paced action that has made it a staple for football enthusiasts.
