The Cleveland Browns are amid a heated quarterback battle between second-year player Shedeur Sanders and veteran Deshaun Watson, so it's wild to think about a trade for any of these two at the moment. But, stranger things have happened in the NFL.

It's safe to say that one should always expect the unexpected in the NFL. So, don't be super surprised if the Browns do work out a surprise trade when the time is right.

Now, a wild trade idea is sending Sanders to a Super Bowl contender. It's a team that just lost their backup quarterback and could use some quarterback depth.

Mark Powell of FanSided has a wild idea. He sees the Browns benefiting from trading Sanders to the Detroit Lions. Yes, sending Sanders to the Motor City.

The Lions just lost veteran quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who was going to be their primary backup to Jared Goff, to retirement. They quickly signed Josh Dobbs, but they could still use real depth and assurance in their quarterback room.

His trade package sends the Lions Sanders and a 2027 seventh-round pick while giving the Browns a 2027 fifth-round pick. Frankly, this is a sweeter deal for the Lions, by far.

"Dealing Sanders and a seventh to the Lions for a fifth-rounder in what should be a loaded draft isn't a bad deal on the surface," he states in a trade piece.

As for the Lions, Goff has rarely been injured. He's a reliable, stable quarterback. But, the Lions are one of those teams that if their franchise quarterback goes down, they really don't have any hope for a win. If they want to change that, Sanders could be the answer.
