Skip Bayless has ‘never seen anything like’ Angel Reese

Chicago Sky star Angel Reese is undeniably one of the most high-profile players in the entire WNBA. However, as longtime sports commentator Skip Bayless points out, she is also one of the most enigmatic.

While Reese has already established herself as arguably the best and most consistent rebounder that the league has ever seen, the fact is that she struggles mightily on the offensive side of the ball.

It’s a dichotomy that Bayless has never seen before, but it was on full display on Sunday night.

Reese Struggles Versus Fever

During Sunday night’s showdown against the Indiana Fever, both sides of Reese’s game were on full display. While she dominated the boards, posting a game-high 14 rebounds, she struggled mightily on the offensive end.

On the offensive side of the game, Reese shot just 5-for-16 from the floor and 0-for-2 from three-point range while turning the ball over four times – a very high number of turnovers for a post player who does not handle the ball with frequency.

The most high-profile failure from Reese came on the final play of regulation. After hauling in a rebound under the basket, Reese missed an open layup that would have given her team the win. Instead, the game went to overtime, where the Dream fell by a final score of 95-91.

Bayless Sounds Off

Bayless watched Sunday night’s game between the Fever and the Dream, and he couldn’t help but notice how odd Reese’s career has been.

While she’s been undeniably dominant on the boards, she just can’t seem to score with consistency.

“Angel Reese, who has made 3 straight All-Star teams, is on the way to becoming the greatest WNBA rebounder ever. She’s leading the league in rebounding – but also in badly blown layups. Never seen anything like her lack of control at the rim. Can make you laugh or wince,” Bayless wrote in a post on X.

While Bayless seems to be quite critical of the Dream star, some view Reese in a much more positive light with one analyst claiming that she is clearly one of the best players in the league.
