New signing Elliot Anderson will wear the No.5 shirt this coming season.
Anderson follows in the illustrious footsteps of previous incumbent City legend and England teammate John Stones who departed the Blues this past summer after 10 years and 20 trophies.
Pablo Zabaleta, Sylvian Distin, Andy Morrison, Paul Power and Tommy Booth are some of the other star names to have worn that number.

Meanwhile, Marc Guéhi has taken No.6, Gianluigi Donnarumma is our new No.1 and incoming keeper Gerónimo Rulli will be No.28.
Guéhi, who joined City in January and wore the No.15 shirt in our Carabao and FA Cup-winning 2025/26 campaign, takes the number vacated by Nathan Ake.
No.6 is the number Guéhi wore throughout his five-year spell at Crystal Palace before his move to the Blues.
Donnarumma will take the No.1 shirt previously worn by James Trafford who departed permanently for Leeds this past week.
Iconic keepers of yesteryear like Frank Swift, Bert Trautmann, Joe Corrigan, Tony Coton and Joe Hart have donned the traditional shot-stopping number.
Donnarumma, who was No.25 this past season, wears No.1 for his national team, Italy, and had it for his final season at PSG when he triumphed in Ligue One, the Coupe de France, the Trophée des Champions and the UEFA Champions League.
