D’Ernest Johnson paid tribute to franchise legend Chris Johnson with a quality touchdown celebration during the Tennessee Titans’ preseason finale against the Chicago Bears on Saturday night.
D’Ernest is going through the ninth season of his NFL career, his first with the Titans. He looks to secure a place in the rushing attack, seeking great opportunities to be productive on the team.
Chris Johnson is a player Tennessee fans remember fondly. He represented them for six seasons, shining as one of the top rushers in the league. He earned NFL Offensive Player of the Year in 2009, landed on the First-team All-Pro in 2009, and made three Pro Bowls from 2008 to 2010.

D’Ernest was well aware of Chris’ impact on the Titans. Which is why it was only fair for him to pay tribute to the franchise legend with the Choppa City Juke celebration after scoring the touchdown against Chicago. Tennessee was nine yards away from the end zone as D’Ernest pulled off the highlight in convincing fashion.

How D’Ernest Johnson, Titans played against BearsD’Ernest Johnson brought Titans fans a memorable touchdown with the Chris Johnson tribute before the preseason drew to a close.
Tennessee ended the preseason with a 2-1 record, falling to the Bears by a 24-15 score. Both teams traded blows, but the visitors had bigger plays with the touchdown highlights to gain the upper hand.
Will Levis played in the game as he completed 14 out of 22 passes for 143 yards. D’Ernest led the rushing attack with six carries for 29 yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Xavier Restrepo caught four passes for 71 yards.
The Titans will seek to improve upon their record of 3–14 from the past two seasons. They also intend to end their four-year drought of both a playoff appearance and an AFC South title.
Tennessee sees its 2026 campaign begin at home, hosting the New York Jets. That matchup will commence on Sept. 13 as kickoff takes place at 1 p.m. ET.
