Titans training camp: Xavier Restrepo continues to make plays

The Tennessee Titans and San Francisco 49ers got together for a heated practice on Tuesday, and by most reports, the Titans came up short.

Between the physical play and the overflowing intensity, some of the Titans lost their cool and got into altercations, eventually leading to both Dan Moore Jr. and Austin Deculus being ejected from the session.

While the Titans had some struggles on both sides of the ball, specifically the offensive line and in the secondary, one player flew under the radar and quietly had an outstanding day of work: wide receiver Xavier Restrepo.

Restrepo has had an outstanding offseason and has carried that over into training camp, where it seems like all he does is produce. Unfortunately, even with such strong showings, he faces an uphill battle to make the roster out of camp, making the joint practices and eventually preseason games extremely important for the young wideout.

At this point, everyone knows Restrepo can produce as a slot receiver, but it is his potential contributions on special teams that will likely be the deciding factor for the final roster spots. The Titans enter their first preseason game clearly five deep at wide receiver, and no one really knows how many they will keep heading into the regular season, but it’s clear Restrepo won’t go down without a fight.
