Tyreek Hill's NFL return remains on hold, but his agent has a prediction

Tyreek Hill has remained unsigned since being released by the Miami Dolphins on Feb. 16 after four seasons with the team.

Hill's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, doesn't believe his client's status will change in advance of the 2026 NFL season.

"I don't expect Tyreek to sign before the season," Rosenhaus said when asked about Hill during a Friday, Aug. 21, appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show."

Rosenhaus' comments come as Hill continues to recover from a several ligament tears, including an ACL, and a dislocation of his left knee he suffered in Week 4 of the 2025 NFL season. He had to be carted off the field in an air cast because of his injury and faced a long road to recovery, which was part of the reason the Dolphins opted to release him.

That said, Rosenhaus provided a positive update on the 32-year-old's recovery from the significant injury.

"He sent me video yesterday of him running hills. He looked great," Rosenhaus said of Hill. "And I said to him, 'You look great.' And he said, 'I still have some work to do. I'm not ready yet.'"

That's part of the reason Rosenhaus is making it clear he is not trying to rush Hill back from injury ahead of the 2026 season.

"I am not pressuring Tyreek, nor am I setting a timeline for him," Rosenhaus explained. "I think that what I've said to Tyreek is, 'Take your time. It's not when you come back, it's how you come back. We want you to come back when you feel your best.' There's no sense of urgency timing-wise."

I do think when he does sign he will be the kind of guy that will impact the playoff race & will certainly be successful" ~ @DrewJRosenhaus#PMSLivepic.twitter.com/FOUdOc9cYF
