Aug. 28—RENVILLE — It should be a good year for the Renville County West volleyball team.
RCW, which was 7-4 in the Camden Conference and 17-9 overall in the 2025 season, brings back a core of players, despite graduating Holly Hinderks, a two-time All-Camden selection.
"We return seven players who saw extensive playing time last season and six seniors who are showing great leadership; this should help us compete in the Camden Conference and Section 3A," Jaguars head coach Rich Schrupp said. "The players have been very dedicated this past summer to getting better and spending time in the weight room."
A key anchor who returns to RCW's backrow is senior Ella Ridl. The libero is coming off an All-Camden junior year where she racked up 418 digs, 62 set assists and 27 ace serves.
There are three outside hitters who have seen the court in the past and ready to make impacts.
Mackenna Hinderks will be at the forefront of the Jaguars' attack. The senior was an All-Camden Honorable Mention a season ago after tallying 222 kills and 32 digs.
Outside hitters in senior Vivia Hebrink and sophomore Scarlett Johnson are also back for RCW.
The trio will receive sets from sophomore Ibis Terrones, who had 374 set assists last year.
Anna Roxberg and Maggie Rice are senior middle blockers who are returning for the Jaguars.
"A strength of this team is we have different players who can attack the volleyball and a setter who can get the hitters the ball," Schrupp said. "A key for us is defense and serve receive."
