Real Madrid’s search for a new midfielder could still produce a surprise before the summer transfer window closes, with Stuttgart star Angelo Stiller once again being linked with a possible move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Real Madrid squad for the 2026/27 season is yet to be fully settled, and Jose Mourinho is still keen to add another midfielder to his options.
The situation has become more uncertain following Rodri’s decision to reject Real Madrid and move towards Barcelona.
That development has left the club assessing whether they should return to the market or place their faith in the midfielders already available to Mourinho.
According to journalist Rodra, as relayed by Defensa Central, Stiller is one name worth keeping an eye on as Real Madrid continue to monitor the market.
However, the journalist also made it clear that there is currently no concrete information suggesting that a deal is close.

It must be remembered that the Angelo Stiller to Real Madrid links are not entirely new.
The Stuttgart midfielder was already mentioned as a possible target last year, and his name has now resurfaced as Mourinho continues to push for another addition in the middle of the pitch.
Rodra revealed that the possibility of Real Madrid being interested in Stiller came up during a conversation with the sporting director of another club.
“Let’s see. I heard about it from the sporting director of another club. They told me Stiller was there, and to watch out for Real Madrid,” explained the journalist.
The comments do not confirm that Real Madrid have opened talks or made a move for the German midfielder.

Instead, they suggest that Stiller is a player whose situation could be worth following during the final stages of the transfer window.
For now, though, there is a significant difference between being admired and becoming an active transfer target.
Uncertainty over new midfield signingsWhile Stiller’s name has entered the conversation, Rodra admitted that the information could simply be an assumption rather than a sign of concrete interest from Real Madrid.
“I think it was more of a guess than actual information. I don’t have any names, to be honest, and I’m pessimistic about anything being finalised,” added Rodra
As of today, especially in terms of potential midfield signings, several names continue to appear in connection with the club, including Adam Wharton, Kees Smit and Martin Zubimendi, but there is no clear indication that Los Blancos are close to signing any of them.
