The Chicago Bears have one more preseason game this Saturday against the Tennessee Titans, and then it’s full steam ahead toward the Carolina Panthers and Week 1. The Bears have a pretty good idea who will make their 53-man roster, but a few spots could still be in question, and a strong week of practice and an impactful final preseason game could change their minds.
Which Bears bubble player do you hope has a big game this Saturday to lock up a roster spot?
Defensive end Jamree Kromah is having a solid camp, but he’s flashed in the two preseason games with 6 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. He plays a position the Bears need help at, but the recent signing og Marcus Davenport may nudge him to the practice squad.
Kaden Davis has been a camp standout, but the battle for WR6 (if they keep a sixth) is a tough one. The Bears gave him a lot of special teams work in the last preseason game, which is what he’ll need to do if he makes the 53.
When the injury bug hit the Bears’ safety room, it was UDFA Skyler Thomas who stepped up to get some run wth the ones. In two preseason games, Thomas has 5 tackles, 2 passes defended, an interception, and another tackle on special teams.
Salvon Ahmed appears to be behind Roschon Johnson for the RB3 role, but Ahmed has more juice. In two preseason games, Johnson has 20 runs for 76 yards (3.8ypc) and 2 receptions for 4 yards, while Ahmed has 8 carries for 53 yards (6.6ypc) and 6 catches for 69 yards and a touchdown.
