NEW YORK - Cody Bellinger is back, and Carlos Rodon makes his first home start Sunday since coming off the IL.

"I like where he’s at physically and how he’s throwing the ball,'' said Yankees manager Aaron Boone of the veteran lefty, making his second start since a bout of elbow inflammation.

Rodon should be around a 75-80 pitch limit against the Toronto Blue Jays. The two teams have split the first two games of this three-game set.

Meanwhile, Bellinger returns to the lineup for the first time since July 25, due to a left hamstring strain.

"Feel like he’s been tested properly,'' Boone said of Bellinger, who played in two minor league rehab games. "To get one of our core guys back is big.''

First order of business

Rodon has a 1-2-3 first inning vs. Toronto, and he survived Vlad Guerrero Jr., who was a .611 hitter (11-for-18) vs. the lefty entering this game.

Vlad lined out to deep center.

In his career vs. Rodon, Guerrero Jr. has three doubles, one homer and six walks. Rodon has never struck him out.
