In the singles matches, Liz Peterson held the top position, followed by Lilly Caron and Bailey Rupp in the second and third spots, respectively. Natalie Wangberg rounded out the singles lineup at No. 4. The Lumberjacks' performance was impressive, with Wangberg defeating her opponent, Sarah Kroll, with a score of 6-2, 6-0, and Rupp dominating Charlie Noska with a 6-0, 6-1 victory. Caron also secured a solid win against Kaylee Perius, finishing 6-1, 6-0. The only loss came from Peterson, who faced Ronni Noska, a top player in Class A, falling 6-4, 6-2.
The real highlight of the match, however, was the performance of the doubles teams, particularly the senior duo of Zoe McNallan and Millie Knott. Having known each other since childhood, their bond has translated into a strong partnership on the court. "We started off kind of iffy, and then I think we were able to pick our energy back up," McNallan reflected after the match. Junior Kelli Carlson partnered with eighth-grader Piper Whiting at No. 2 doubles, winning their match 6-2, 6-0. Freshmen Norah Friese and Emma Carlson, playing at No. 3 doubles, did not drop a single game, finishing with a commanding 6-0, 6-0 victory. The success of these younger players can be attributed to the guidance and leadership of the senior duo, who have taken on the responsibility of mentoring them as they transition to the varsity level.
Head coach Kyle Fodness praised the performance of McNallan and Knott, noting their history of success together.
