Nobody would have ever thought that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. wouldn't be hitting home runs at a ridiculously high clip.
If there's one thing that's been for certain throughout a lot of Guerrero's career in Major League Baseball, it's the fact that he's one of the best offensive players in the game.
He's that because of his ability to leave the yard at any given moment.
Unfortunately for the son of a former Major League Baseball superstar, Guerrero really hasn't done what we expect him to do on that side of things throughout this campaign.
In fact, one can make a strong argument that he's been very disappointing offensively.
Everybody knows his problems power-wise, but the latest from Bob Nightengale of USA Today really put things into perspective. Guerrero has struggled a ton at home, and has actually gone a year since his last regular-season home run at the Rogers Centre.
“It will be the one-year anniversary Monday, Aug. 17, of Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s last home run at Rogers Centre in Toronto, if you can believe it,” Nightengale wrote.
This is just a ridiculous stat to look at, and not even because of the type of player Guerrero is, but just because of the simple fact that he plays every single day.
When guys are in a lineup daily, it almost feels impossible that they wouldn't have at least one home run at home.
When we factor in how much power Guerrero has shown to have throughout his career, it makes everything more head-scratching.
