CADDO MILLS — “Yes yes, no no.” That was the roaring chant of the hometown crowd in Caddo Mills every time the Lady Foxes touched the ball in the team’s home opener and every time Blue Ridge touched the ball.

“We always bring a good crowd, we always have a great student and have fans that show up and support,” coach Skyler Camacho said. “There’s energy on the floor, there’s energy on the bench and then it only helps when you have energy in the stands. We love that about this place.”

Key moments where the crowd came into play were in the later half of Sets 2 and 3. After taking Set 1, 25-20, the Lady Foxes got on a roll in the second set but Blue Ridge kept fighting back.

That was when Harlynn Johnson and Bailey Kobe teamed up for three kills in a row to take the lead in Set 2, 15-8. The crowd erupted more and more each time the ball touched the ground in the Lady Tigers zone. The offense remained locked in and pulled away for a Set 2 win, 25-16, one set away from a sweep.

Set 3 didn’t start off ideal for the Lady Foxes, trailing 5-1, but the team eventually narrowed the gap and started trading shots with the Lady Tigers before eventually taking the lead.

The Lady Foxes looked poised for victory late in the set, leading 22-14, but Blue ridge started making a comeback.

Camacho called timeout when the score was 22-19 to steady the team and the Lady Foxes made the most of it. Kobe struck a ball on the left side of the net for a kill and the student section came un-glued.

The Lady Foxes went on to win Set 3, 25-20, completing a sweep and extending their record to 9-2.
