Chloe Dixon: It gives you a bit of a boost

Leeds United Women began their FA WNL Cup campaign with an important three points in Group T of the competition, beating Halifax Women away from home.

With the scores level at 2-2, Chloe Dixon scored a superb strike to put the Whites ahead, which was enough to seal three points on the night.

Speaking after the match, Dixon gave her thoughts on the win.

“I think tonight it was nice for everyone to be getting minutes and involved in it.

“You can try different things, you can get your rotations in, and it's a bit less pressure than the League, I'd say. So it's a nice way to play fluently.

“Then it was nice to seal it off like that [scoring the winner]. I feel like it wasn't my best game, so it's nice when you get that in at the end.

“It gives you a bit of a boost and sets you up for the league then, hopefully.”

Next up for Simon Wood’s side is another trip away from home, returning to league action by facing Chorley, a game Dixon is looking forward to playing in.

I'm really looking forward to it!” She answered.

“I'm glad we've had a midweeker, I feel like we maybe needed that and we're in a good place as a team, we're up and running now.”
