Dennis Schroder is now with his 12th team in his 14th season after being traded to the Charlotte Hornets a few days ago. The Hornets were part of the five-team deal that landed them the veteran guard, who spent last season with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

It seems Schroder is on track to wear every uniform in the NBA. While he cannot find a permanent home, he has always been a solid guard, averaging 13.7 points in his journeyman career.

While he is a second-tier guard in the NBA, he is an elite star in international basketball. Schroder suited up anew for Germany in the current window of the FIBA World Cup European Qualifiers. They beat the Netherlands, 99-83, on Thursday and improved to 6-1.

The 32-year-old Schroder had a team-high 23 points on 7-of-11 shooting, six assists, and two steals.

Fans on X said the same thing after the veteran guard’s impressive performance.

“This dude is only good when he plays anywhere that’s not the NBA,” said @J3llyB3an12.

“Good enough to dominate most international games, not good enough for the NBA,” added @notfixed252106.

Fans forget that Schroder had a strong five-year stretch with the Atlanta Hawks, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Los Angeles Lakers, including averaging a career-high 19.4 points in the 2017-2018 season. He was instrumental in the Thunder’s inspired run in the playoffs in the 2019-2020 season, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander still on the rise.

Schroder carried Germany to the championship in the 2023 FIBA World Cup. He was named MVP of the tournament after averaging 19.1 points, 6.1 assists, and 1.2 steals.

He will likely come off the bench for the Hornets, backing up Coby White.
