Bayern Munich won the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup against Borussia Dortmund. This marks the team’s first trophy of the 2026/27 season. However, they were missing a very crucial figure in the proceedings — Jamal Musiala.
The 23-year-old’s revelations about his health came as a shock to many, but perhaps not the club itself. Following the conversations surrounding his health, he took a break from sport and since then has not featured in group training sessions. Currently on individual training and rest, Musiala’s return seems inevitable since both him and the club are optimistic that dose adjustments on his medication could ensure a smooth return to football.
Following the title win, Joshua Kimmich was asked whether the title was for Musiala as well. The answer was, unsurprisingly, a resounding yes.
“Yes, absolutely,” Kimmich stated, per @iMiaSanMia. “We hope Jamal will be back soon because he’s an incredibly important player for us, for the team and for Germany as a whole. We all know what he’s capable of and we hope he’ll be back soon. We all in the team support him at 100%.”
The question may have been rather redundant in itself, but the support that Kimmich went on to emphasize is what matters here.
We all wish that Musiala comes back healthy, and at the soonest.
