Travis Kelce Publicly Calls Taylor Swift His ‘Wife’ for First Time at Chiefs Camp

• Kelce has been training all summer, including hosting Tight End University and conditioning in Miami for what’s thought to be his final NFL season

Travis Kelce was all smiles while talking about Taylor Swift after their star-studded wedding.

While addressing the media at the team’s training camp on Wednesday, July 12, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 36, detailed their Madison Square Garden nuptials and publicly called Swift, also 36, his “wife” for the first time.

Kelce was asked by a reporter at the press conference about the significance of tying the knot at the iconic sports arena.

“MSG, man, you know, I always told myself I go for a playoff game when the Knicks were rocking, and my wife went when I was stuck in minicamp, I didn’t get my opportunity to go then,” he said, referencing Swift’s attendance at the New York Knicks’ Game 4 win during the NBA Finals.

“It’s kind of cool, you know, to live out my childhood dream of being in that venue, the Mecca of all sports venues, being able to get married in there... It was perfect,” Kelce continued.

“And the AC was cookin’, baby,” he quipped, in reference to the N.Y.C. heat wave that hit the weekend of their wedding.

In the same press conference, Kelce also called their wedding the “best night of my life.”

“It was a fun offseason, man,” he said. “Wedding was the best night of my life, and I appreciate everybody who came out and celebrated and had fun with us.”

“It was a crazy night, it was full of a lot of celebration,” the tight end continued, before adding that his focus is now on “football, baby.”

Less than a month after his splashy wedding to Swift, Kelce headed back to training camp on July 29 in preparation for his 14th season in the NFL, which is thought to likely be his last.

Although the tight end has only been at the practice facilities at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Mo. the last two weeks, he’s been putting in the work all summer long.

“He always goes into his own routine with training, and it’s brutal,” Donna Kelce told PEOPLE exclusively in May. “Then he goes to actual training camp. He has to get ready before he goes to training camp. It’s a long process. It’s months to get ready. That’s what he’s doing right now.”

Prior to training camp and the wedding Kelce attended the Chiefs mandatory, three-day minicamp at their team practice facility in Kansas City from June 9 through June 11.

Kelce then attended Tight End University in Nashville, where he and his fellow co-founders, George Kittle of the San Francisco 49ers and retired NFL star Greg Olsen, trained and mentored the best tight ends in the league from June 22 to June 25.

Days later, on July 3, Kelce wed Swift at MSG, and two weeks later, Kelce was photographed in Miami getting back to conditioning.
